Love: more than a four letter word

October 29, 2013

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”(1Peter 4:8-9 NIV). “Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law.” (Rom 13:10 NIV). Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up….” (1 Thes 5:11 NIV). “A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you….” (John 13:34 NIV)

Sometimes, we are misguided by what we believe love is to us, but love is not about what we feel or think for ourselves, love is how we demonstrate to others what we feel and think about them. The principle matter to this is; are our hands out to give, or to receive… The Bible declares that there is no greater love than when we sacrifice for others(John 15:13). Remember “love” is not just an emotion, it’s the intangibles that reside within it; honor, respect, integrity, humility, loyalty, dignity, etc…

Heavenly Father, we give You all the thanks and praise. Father, we ask that You fill our hearts and minds with the love that You have ordained for us. Lord, help us to be giver’s and not taker’s. Help us to realize that we need to stop all negative, unhealthy communication and actions. Lord move us, so that we will lift our hands and our hearts to help each other. Lord remove the blinders from our eyes and we will be forever mindful to give You all of the honor, glory and praise.  In Jesus’ name, we pray! Amen.
